The Owls academy graduate, who has burst to prominence this season, is now into the last six months of his contract at Hillsborough, meaning that any interested parties outside of England can open up discussions with him.

For clubs in England, however, they would only be able to speak to Shaw later in the year after a decision has been made regarding his Owls future ‘seven days of the first Saturday in May, or the date of the last competitive Match of the Club’s first team’.

It is understood that the 19-year-old is in no rush to make a decision on his future, and that he is very much open to remaining at Wednesday. However he is unsurprisingly weighing up his options at what is a crucial junction in his career.

With that in mind, The Star is led to believe that Celtic are very much in discussion with Shaw – who has missed the Owls’ last two games due to a shoulder injury – but that talks with Wednesday remain ongoing as well.

Should Shaw leave, then SWFC would be entitled to some form of compensation, however it differs in amount depending on whether he made a move to an English club or another nation.

Sources have suggested that discussions with Wednesday remain cordial, but only time will tell what lies ahead for the talented teen.
