Wednesday have had a number of absences due to injury in recent weeks, with the likes of Keiren Westwood, Chey Dunkley, Massimo Luongo, Julian Börner and Josh Windass among those that have missed out.

Thompson was talking to the media today ahead of Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park, but he wasn’t giving too much away with regards to who would and wouldn’t be available.

He said, “Obviously we’ve had injury issues with them, but they’re coming along nicely and we’ll obviously check on them tomorrow in terms of their availability for Sunday. But they are progressing.

“We’ve had a couple of them back on the training pitch, which is nice, but we’ve got a lot of games coming up so we have to make sure it’s the right time if we’re going to put them back in.

“We’ll assess everyone in the morning. Because of people just getting back into training - because of injury or otherwise - we have to treat everyone on their own merits and make decisions on the long-term effects of it on that individual.

“We need to make sure we have as many players available for the vast majority of games leading up to the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, when asked if there were any fresh injury concerns for the Owls, ‘Thommo’ replied, “There’s a couple, but I’m not going to give anything away in terms of that. We’ll wait and see. I don’t want to say about injuries today when we’ve got tomorrow to think about.”
