Chris Wilder's Blades are looking to pull off the greatest of escapes and survive in the top-flight this season, doing their chances no harm at all by beating second-bottom West Brom in midweek.

Bogle, the former Derby defender, scored his third goal in United colours to drag United level, before Billy Sharp netted the winner.

"It just comes down to confidence," said Bogle, asked about his side's run of five wins in their last seven games.

"It goes low when you go through a bad spell, but we're starting to believe more. It [Chelsea] is a massive game, but we've shown in the last few weeks that we can compete against top teams and get results.

"We have to go and do that again."

Bogle is likely to keep his place against Thomas Tuchel's men, and could return to right-back after George Baldock went off injured against West Brom.

But wherever the 20-year-old has played in recent weeks, he has tended to impress - especially offensively.

There is a little bit of Kieron Freeman in the young man, in that he tends to appear in good offensive positions and can finish, too. Freeman scored 11 goals from right-back as United won the League One title in 2016/17 - the difference is that Bogle is catching the eye going forward at the highest level of English football.

"I love getting in those attacking areas and looking to create things," Bogle said.

"But I also understand I have defensive responsibilities, too. It's just about putting the two things together.

"We've played some top teams in recent weeks and I'm trying to focus on improving my game, working as hard as I possibly can."

One man Bogle is enjoying working with is skipper Sharp.

"He's a fantastic finisher ... if there's one man you want in the box, it's him," Bogle said.

"He's proven he can score goals over the years and he just keeps doing it."
