Investigation launched after block of flats catch fire on Sheffield street

An investigation is under way today into the cause of a flat fire in Sheffield.

The blaze broke out in a property on Herries Road at around 6.15pm yesterday and three fire engines were deployed to the scene.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “There is no cause as yet, the investigation is taking place this morning.”

An investigation into a huge blaze on Chesterfield Road, Heeley, last Sunday concluded that it was accidental and the probable cause was an electrical fault.
