Greggs have announced they will be partnering with food delivery company Just Eat to start offering a delivery service across the country.

What’s more, they are planning to extend their opening hours so you can enjoy a steak bake – vegan or the real thing – whatever the hour.

But the to-your-door service won’t be arriving in the city until spring.

Greggs already delivers in London, Glasgow and Newcastle and will expand the service to Bristol and Birmingham this week before launching in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham later this year. They plan to deliver nationwide by the end of 2020.

Greggs chief executive Roger Whiteside said: "We know from the trials we have carried out that our customers love the idea that they can get Greggs delivered directly to their door and we're delighted to now be working with Just Eat to provide that service to our customers across the UK by the end of this year."

The company’s most popular delivery items so far include their classic sausage roll, vegan sausage roll and steak bake.

Just Eat UK managing director Andrew Kenny added: "We're proud to be the only food delivery app that can bring you the likes of the Greggs vegan sausage roll wherever you are.”
