Rhodes was the hero at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday evening as he rose highest to head home Kadeem Harris’ brilliant cross, and there are now hopes that he could play a big part in getting some goals for the Owls as they seek to stay in the Championship this season.
Speaking after the 1-0 win over Bournemouth, ‘Thommo’ says that he’s really pleased for the striker – who turns 31 today – and insisted that his work ethic never falters.

“But he’s a fantastic professional, does everything right, prepares himself properly every week and he’s got his just rewards tonight. I’m delighted for him.”
Next up for Wednesday is a trip to Millwall this weekend as they look to keep up their impressive run of form, and it remains to be seen whether Rhodes will be given the chance to score in back-to-back league games for Wednesday for the the first time since back in 2017.
Rhodes has scored 15 goals for Wednesday, and is now 12 goals away from becoming the leading Championship goalscorer of all time, a record that Wednesdayites would love to see him break in a blue and white shirt this season.
