House builder contributes millions of pounds to Sheffield neighbourhood

A Sheffield neighbourhood will get a multi-million pound investment thanks to a new housing development.

David Wilson Homes is building hundreds of new houses at Oughtibridge Valley and will invest in the area as part of a community infrastructure levy.

The home builder has committed more than £1 million to education facilities to provide additional primary and secondary school places.

A £5,000 traffic regulation order will fund reduced speed limits in the area, £20,000 will go towards a new bus stop and there is a £700,000 contribution to new and improved pedestrian and cycle connections.

Another £1.75 million will be spent on affordable housing elsewhere in the city.

David Coe, land and development director at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the community in Sheffield through contributions made as a result of our brand new Oughtibridge Valley development.
