Sheffield footballing memories from the 90s - who can you spot in our retro gallery?

An applictaion to destroy the Plough Inn site – where the laws of football were drawn up – and create new homes has been lodged so we have dug out some retro pictures to remind you of the beautiful game from the late 1990s.

The Plough Inn on Sandygate Road is more than 150 years old and is where the laws of the modern game were drawn up.

But the historic site, which sits opposite Hallam FC – the oldest football ground in the world – is now set to be torn down.

We should be proud of our Sheffield history and to be the founders of a game played by millions every day all over the world.
