Postal workers based at the centre joined in the fun with sponsored football and cricket matches and a sponsored walk in Derbyshire. The matches were staged at Woodburn Road stadium in Sheffield and sponsorship came from family, friends and colleagues. John Peters, postal worker, said: "I was delighted to be able to hand over the cheque to such a worthy charity. My colleagues and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to those who showed us their support with sponsorship money." "We are particularly grateful to Andrew Hynd who ran the New York Marathon, and gave us a massive donation. He showed outstanding commitment." David Vernon Edwards, Fundraiser for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, said: "We are delighted to receive such a substantial amount from the team at Sheffield's Royal Mail. Well done to all staff for their efforts.
