Rising to the rank of Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander, Attracta moved to Sheffield from her native Ireland after qualifying as a doctor. She worked at Great Ormond Street for many years, was the first female doctor to serve in the Royal Navy and even stood for parliament. She is buried in the cemetery with her parents.
