Looking back at the voices of change and power as we celebrate Black History Month in Sheffield
October is Black History Month in the UK and it's been celebrated nationwide every year for nearly 40 years, so we have delved into the archive to pull in pictures of Sheffield’s great and good going back to 1999.

This month was originally founded to recognise the contributions that people of African and Caribbean backgrounds have made to this country over many generations.
Now, Black History Month has expanded to include the history of not just these cultures but all black people in general so take a look at these pictures and see who you can spot.
