It’s almost a right of passage going to Abbeydale on a school trip and in the 50 years since it opened thousands and thousands of school children have taken the journey back in time.

As part of the hamlet’s golden celebrations this year we will be diving into the photo archives and bringing the past to life again once more.
Who can you spot having fun dressing up and learning about the city’s great industrial heritage in these snaps that go back to 1996 to the mid 00s?
