Thousands and thousands of images are stored in the city’s archive Picture Sheffield, but pictures without captions don’t tell the story of why or where the picture was taken.

Pete Evans, the archivist at Picture Sheffield, said: “Can you help us identify these images?”

Anyone who can shed some light on the pictures of where or when they may have been taken and explain what was happening in each image is asked to contact Pete quoting the reference number from each picture. If you can help shine a light on any of the pictures email [email protected]
