The Durham Ox on Cricket Inn Road, near the city centre, opened in 1862 and was named after the huge bull calf bred at Ketton Hall whose size made it a national celebrity.
It closed in 1993 and has since been badly damaged by fire and vandalism.
But the derelict property sold for £130,000 at auction in April and the air conditioning firm Airflow Cooling has since announced plans to turn it into offices and warehouse space.
These new pictures from the popular urban exploration Facebook group Dare To Tread show how the building looks ahead of its planned revamp.
