These are 10 Sheffield pubs which have closed down over the years – how many do you remember?
1. Matilda Tavern, Matilda Street
Since closing down in 2005, the Matilda Tavern has become a site for street artists to run wild. There has been some interest in trying to redevelop the pub but it currently remains closed.

2. The Rock Tavern, Dixon Lane
Now home to a butcher’s shop, the Rock Tavern was another spot where Sheffield’s rock fans used to let loose. It was closed in 1972.

3. Turf Tavern, Handsworth Road
Closed down around 2014, the Turf Tavern suffered a similar fate to many other pubs in the city - not making enough profit to keep going.

4. The Queens Hotel
The Queens Hotel has been closed for a couple of decades and remains in a derelict state.
