“You will not only receive support from our teams of trusted professionals working hard to make sure that your wishes will be honoured, but you will be helping us give back to your community.”

Planning ahead has other benefits; you can ensure you have the send-off you want and the peace of mind that loved ones will be able to celebrate your life, instead of facing tough decisions and financial worries at a very difficult time.

Co-op Funeralcare offer everything from a Bretby plan (£1,495) which is an unattended funeral with a simple coffin to a Kensington plan (£4,195) which includes a limousine and a high-quality coffin. They also create bespoke send-offs that are made up of any of the elements you want and more.

As standard, Co-op funeral plans include all funeral director’s fees and services, hearse and support, cremation or interment, family support and minister fees.

Jo added: “Our job is to make sure that when somebody’s bereaved they feel comforted whichever stage of bereavement they’re going through. They need somebody there to understand and listen. They need hand-holding and they need advice at the right time – that is what our teams can provide.

“Our funeral directors and arrangers do everything they can to help families during their time of need and helping people to pre-plan their funeral, make it unique to them and remove any worries of financial uncertainty and stress really makes a difference.”

At the time of need, whether the death is expected or not, it is an emotional time for all involved, and pre-planning lessens the burden on friends and family.

Jo said: “A pre-planned funeral means that the family can take some comfort from the fact that the person who’s passed away is having their wishes met.

“When you need us, we’ll be there as our funeral directors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
