The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Tributes have poured in for Jay following his death and a GoFundMe page set up to help pay for his funeral.

The page has now exceeded its £5,000 target, raising more than £7,000 for the funeral.

Jay’s friend Chris Agacy, who launched the appeal, said: “This man is a absolute diamond he would give his last quid to ya so can we please all help his mum and sister give him the best ever send off.”
