The 12 Sheffield areas with highest infection rates as Tier 3 lockdown looms

New government data has revealed where coronavirus infection rates are highest in Sheffield.

A new interactive map from Public Health England shows which areas have the highest seven-day rolling infection rates as the government holds talks over a possible Tier 3 lockdown for the city.

The seven-day rates are expressed per 100,000 members of the population and are calculated by dividing the seven-day case count by the area population and then multiplying it by 100,000.

It shows how much positive cases have risen in a particular area during a seven-day period.

The 12 neighbourhoods below have a seven-day rolling infection rate of 500 or above.
