'Super weekend': Here's where you can get your Covid-19 vaccine at Sheffield's walk-in centres
A walk-in vaccination clinic in Sheffield will extend its opening hours this weekend, between June 25 and 28, to boost vaccination rollout.
The vaccination clinic based at Darnall Primary Care Centre is extending the hours for bookable and walk-in appointments this weekend in a bid to vaccinate as many people as possible.
Sheffield residents aged 18 and over can get their first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine without booking an appointment.
Alun Windle, chief nurse and Covid vaccination lead at NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group said: “The walk-in clinic at Darnall has been extended to give people more flexible options on when to have their vaccination.
“To end the pandemic and get our lives fully back, we need as many as possible to be vaccinated with both doses. Get booked in or come along to the walk-in clinic this weekend.”
Dr Nadeem Petkar, GP and clinical director at Primary Care Sheffield, who are organising the clinics, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer even more opportunities for people across Sheffield to take up the covid vaccination.
“Our clinic in Darnall Primary Care Centre is open to all adults aged 18 or over across the city at these extended hours this weekend, as well as the usual opening times of 7 pm to 9 pm weekdays and 9 am to 4:30 pm at weekends.”
This comes after the Sheffield Octagon Centre recently announced it is offering a walk-in service, open Monday-Sunday, from 8am to 5pm each day, and operating on a first come, first served ticketed basis.
Darnall Primary Care Centre will be open on the following dates and times:
Friday 25 June - 18:30-21:30
Saturday 26 June - 08:00-20:00
Sunday 27 June - 08:00-20:00
Monday 28 June - 18:30- 21:00
Appointments are bookable by calling 119, or you can walk in.
