The money raised will help the hospital, which has doubled its intensive care capacity during the coronavirus crisis as it treats young people travelling from across the UK, continue its good work.
More than 400 supporters tuned in for the first quiz, featuring questions from, among others, BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker and Olympic gold-medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill, which raised over £3,000.
Donations to the charity’s emergency COVID-19 appeal are being used to fund additional resources to support staff wellbeing and to buy craft activities, toys and games for young patients which are needed more than ever due to the visitor restrictions in place to protect them and others.
To join the quiz, on Saturday, May 9, at 7.30pm, visit www.youtube.com/SCHCharity/Live.
