South Yorkshire hit by 21 more Covid-19 deaths as Sheffield death toll rises to 514

The data, released daily by the government, reveals two further Covid-19r related fatalities have been recorded in Sheffield’s hospitals along with 11 in Doncaster, six in Rotherham and two in Barnsley.
It brings the death tally to 514 in Sheffield and 470 in Doncaster. The death toll in Rotherham now stands at 367 and at 340 in Barnsley.

Nationwide, a further 344 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 43,248.
Patients were aged between 16 and 100 years old. All except 11 of these patients (who were aged 51 to 96 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
The date of death ranges from October 18 to December 8, with the majority being on or after 4 December.
Their families have been informed, said NHS England.
