Sheffield's coronavirus death toll tops 100 as latest figures are released

More than 100 people have now died in Sheffield after contracting coronavirus, the latest figures reveal.

NHS England figures out today reveal a total of 106 patients have died in Sheffield hospitals since the outbreak began – up eight on yesterday’s figures.

There have been four more deaths in Rotherham, with the death toll now 28 and there have been another two deaths recorded in Barnsley, with 42 fatalities altogether.

A total of 34 patients have died in Doncaster – with no extra deaths recorded today.

Nationally the death toll in England stands at 10,261 – up 667 on yesterday.
