Sheffield's coronavirus death toll rises again as England records 823 new deaths

Sheffield’s coronavirus death toll has risen again, with the number of fatalities in the city up nine compared to yesterday’s figure.

As of 5pm on April 10, a total of 8,937 people had died in England after testing positive for Covid-19.

In Sheffield the death toll stands at 89.

There have been a total of 38 deaths in Barnsley and 23 in Rotherham.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS has recorded 31 deaths.

The UK is currently on lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
