The number of hospital patients to have died in Sheffield after contracting Covid-19 has gone up by one since yesterday, taking the overall total to 222.

There have been 120 deaths in Rotherham, which is up one on yesterday; 92 in Barnsley, which is the same as yesterday and 110 in Doncaster, which is three more than yesterday.

The total number of confirmed reported hospital deaths in England is 22,049.

The figures published today by NHS England show April 8 continues to have the highest number for the most hospital deaths occurring on a single day, with a current total of 874.

The overall total for the UK will be released later today.

The UK remains on lockdown, with the government set to review measures tomorrow.
