New figures out today record another 56 deaths across the UK – 46 in England, four in Scotland, five in Wales and one in Northern Ireland.

But in Sheffield, the number of hospital patients to have died after testing positive for Covid-19 remains at 284.

The last death recorded in the city was that of a 13-day-old baby at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

There have been 28,384 deaths in England altogether

In Doncaster there have been 215 deaths, which is an increase of one since yesterday and there have been 140 in Barnsley, which is also up one since yesterday.Rotherham’s death toll remains the same as it was yesterday at 186.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the easing of a number of lockdown measures today.

From July 4, hairdressers, pubs and restaurants can reopen.
