The deaths of another 37 people, who tested positive for Covid-19, have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals in England to 28,709.

In Sheffield, there have been 286 deaths, which is the same as yesterday’s total.Rotherham’s and Barnsley’s death tolls have also not changed since yesterday, with 193 in Rotherham and 145 in Barnsley.

But Doncaster’s total has gone up by two since yesterday and now stands at 223.

Lockdown measures are eased this weekend, with bars and restaurants allowed to re-open from Saturday, July 4.

Hair salons and camp sites can also reopen but nail bars, beauticians, swimming pools and gyms have longer to wait.

Leicester has been forced to lockdown again because of a localised outbreaks, with warnings that the move may be repeated elsewhere.
