According to NHS England, the official coronavirus death toll for hospital patients in Sheffield who tested positive still stands at 274, which is the same as it was on Tuesday.

Across England, a total of 27,160 hospital patients have died in total after testing positive for the virus – up 115 since yesterday.

Sheffield MP 'very worried' about lockdown easing

The figure does not include deaths in care homes or any other setting.

A total of 187 deaths have been recorded by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, which is an increase of one since yesterday.

There have been 170 deaths in Rotherham, which is an increase of four and 125 in Barnsley, which is the same as yesterday.

Lockdown measures have been eased this week with groups of six from different households allowed to mix outside.
