Manor and Park Group Practice have announced that Manor Park Medical Centre will reopen for three and a half days per week from Monday, January 6.

In December, health bosses closed the medical centre to ‘maintain patient safety’, but in the last two weeks, the practice has appointed extra locum GPs and all nurses have returned from sick leave.

From next week the centre will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 am to 5 pm, and on Thursdays from 8 am to 12 pm.

It will be closed Thursday afternoons and Fridays and on these days, Manor Park registered patients can access Park Health Centre, 190 Duke Street.

Clare Normington, practice managing partner, said: “I’d like to thank our patients for their good wishes to practice staff and for their support during this challenging time.

“I’d also like to thank all our staff who have been amazing pulling together during this difficult time.

“We are fully committed to getting the surgery fully open again just as soon as we have enough medical staff to provide safe, quality services.

Dr Terry Hudsen, Chair at NHS Sheffield CCG, said: “It’s great news the practice has made good progress in recruiting GPs and now has enough staff to open a few days a week.

“I’d like to thank practice staff, CCG staff, and partners for their fantastic efforts and working together during a busy Christmas and New Year period in the best interests of Manor Park patients.”

If Manor Park patients need to see a GP or nurse, they should call the usual number of 0114 272 7768 and they will be offered an appointment at either Manor Park Medical Centre or Park Health Centre.

Although Manor Park is only open three and a half days a week, full general practice services will be offered during these hours.

However, if patients are ill with less serious conditions and injuries and are not sure what service to use, NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day.
