Sheffield death toll rises to 20 as six more patients die from coronavirus

The number of people who have died in Sheffield from the coronavirus continues to rise with an increase of six reported today

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have confirmed four patients passed away on Sunday (March 29) and a further two on Monday (March 30).

Public Health England data released this afternoon for Barnsley Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust shows one person died on Sunday (March 29)

Across the UK further 367 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 1,651.

Patients were aged between 19 and 98 years old and all but 28 patients (aged between 19 and 91 years old) had underlying health conditions.

Public Health England data for Monday, March 30 shows 428 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Sheffield.

There were 79 confirmed cases in Barnsley and 70 in Rotherham.
