Sheffield City Hall has responded to questions over whether it should cancel concerts and events scheduled to take place as coronavirus fears increase.

A spokesperson said: “The health and wellbeing of all our customers is our absolute priority at Sheffield City Hall.

“We are working directly with all relevant agencies to ensure we are providing the safest possible environment and reacting to any developments regarding advice on Coronavirus.

“The official UK risk of Coronavirus has been increased from low to moderate, but the risk to individuals has not changed at this stage.

“The risk to individuals remains low. The advice from relevant authorities is that it is ‘business as usual’ and there is no need to alter your plans for enjoying our activities.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and update our advice as applicable. We encourage everyone visiting, working and performing in any Sheffield City Trust venue to follow the current guidelines on personal hygiene.”
