Plans approved for Barker's Pool, Sheffield, 'potentially life saving'
Council approves scheme for high profile site
Sheffield city centre is set to get another lifesaving ‘bleed kit’.

Permission has been granted to site cabinets for both a bleed kit and a defibrillator on the front wall of the Nationwide Building Society branch on Barker's Pool.
A report before Sheffield Council accompanying the planning application, which was approved, said the benefits of installing the cabinets was potentially live saving, and therefore any adverse impact on how the area looked was outweighed.
It states: “Whilst bleed kits are not as common, defibrillators are visible in most street scenes, and on this modern shop front, there is no harm to the appearance of the shop front for these essential medical supplies.”
Bleed kits are emergency first-aid kits designed to control severe, life-threatening blood loss before professional medical help arrives.
A defibrillator is a device that can save the life of someone in cardiac arrest.
