There have been no additional coronavirus deaths at hospitals elsewhere in South Yorkshire recorded today either.

There have been 229 deaths during the pandemic in Doncaster, 196 in Rotherham and 148 in Barnsley.

NHS England said that of the 26 fatalities in England announced today, the patients were between 49 and 94 years old.

All but one had known underlying health conditions.

The Covid-19 death toll for hospital patients in England now stands at 29,103.

The figure does not include care home deaths or those in any other settings.

It is now compulsory for everyone in a shop to wear a face covering.
