Ash wants to develop a football team similar to AFC Wimbledon, which started as an amateur team going through the leagues until reaching professional status.

He wants to develop teams which not only produce football players, but also take them away from crime or misdeeds.

“If they’re not going to get anything out of football fair enough,” he said.

“I’m not expecting to produce the next Jamie Vardy, but from my point of view I wasn’t allowed to play football when I was younger.

“I’ve got a medical condition called hypoglycemia. My mother wrapped me up in cotton wool saying ‘you can’t play, you can’t play’.”

This past has inspired Ash to strive to provide this opportunity for others.

He said: “I want to provide kids and other people with something I never had, which was an opportunity to help coach or play football and help people achieve and climb that ladder to wherever they want to be.”
