Man interviewed by police over breastfeeding scam in Sheffield

A man has been interviewed by the police over a scam in which women were asked to send pictures of them breastfeeding in return for baby milk and hand sanitiser.

South Yorkshire Police said the 27-year-old man has been interviewed under caution on suspicion of malicious communications and breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The mothers were asked to send breastfeeding photos via various messaging apps, in return for items including hand sanitiser, baby milk and food.

Police enquiries revealed the requests were fraudulent.

The man interviewed has been released under investigation.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone else who may have been contacted but has not yet report the matter to the hospital or police.
