BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, Olympic Gold medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill and former England Cricket Captain Michael Vaughan will all be asking questions when The Children’s Hospital Charity’s virtual quiz, Theo’s Big Night In, returns tomorrow evening (Saturday, May 30) for its third outing.

More than £5,500 has been raised so far and organisers hope Saturday’s event will be even better, possibly raising an amazing £10,000 for the hospital’s emergency Covid-19 appeal.

This weekend’s edition will also feature questions from the first British astronaut, Helen Sharman, England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley as well as The Children’s Hospital Charities newest patron, Esme Morgan. Famous faces from the world of art, TV and film complete the line-up.

During the coronavirus, The Children’s Hospital Charity are finding new ways to support Sheffield Children’s and Theo’s Big Night in is one of the initiatives to ensure fundraisers can still make a difference from a distance.

The money raised from tomorrow night will help to ensure there is no long-term impact in charitable support for Sheffield Children’s, ensuring that the hospital’s ongoing and developing needs continue to be met through this crisis and beyond.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the hospital has doubled its intensive care capacity and will be carrying out all emergency children’s surgery and some high dependency work that would have ordinarily taken place at surrounding hospitals across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.

Donations made to the emergency Covid-19 appeal can help fund additional resources to support staff wellbeing as well as craft activities, toys and games for young patients at this difficult time, with reduced contact procedures now in place for their own protection.
