Here's how to help Sheffield mountain rescue team's urgent appeal to raise £40,000
Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team, who are based in Penistone, started urgent fundraising when they had to retire one of their operational vehicles very unexpectedly.
They are raising £40,000 to buy a nearly new, all-terrain Land Rover Discovery to be their new primary off-road vehicle for the next 10 years or more.

"The team experienced its busiest year ever in 2020 and the new year promises too be even more demanding, especially while we are missing a vehicle.”
Last year the team dealt with 90 incidents and had to deal with problems around training and working created by the pandemic.
Fundraising took a major hit as all events were cancelled, so the group have had to rely on supporters donating via Facebook and Just Giving.

The spokesman said: “In addition to space on the vehicle, we are offering other exciting opportunities for businesses including appearing on our website, photo opportunities, social media coverage and even the chance to get staff involved in our training exercises which could double-up as novel networking opportunity with your fellow business supporters.”
Similarly, the names of individuals who donate £100 can appear on a ‘window of well wishers’ on the rear windscreen.
