Help is at hand. Dronfield-based Woodlands Fitness Centre is offering a free service for learner-runners or anyone who has signed up for the Dronfield 10k or Sheffield half marathon.

Woodlands experts have put together a comprehensive training plan specifically designed to “keep people motivated, support with increasing running distance and get them over the finish line in style.”

Woodlands’ running supremo and personal trainer, Laura Inglis said: “We already have our regular weekly running club for intermediate and advanced runners and, every few months, we run ‘Couch to 5k’ programmes which have proved highly successful at giving people the running bug.

“Our latest programme is aimed at people who are running this year’s Dronfield 10k and/or Sheffield half marathon; there’s so much on offer for those looking for a Personal Best or simply to get to the end.”

The free programme starts on Tuesday, February 2 with a coached run with Laura from Woodlands Fitness Centre, Sheffield Road starting at 6.30pm.

Participants will get the following: Two coach-led sessions each week for six weeks, a bespoke plan with three runs per week plus an optional extra guidance if required, technique pointers during the runs to help you run as efficiently as possible, email support, advice on stretching, clothing, nutrition and injury prevention and the motivation of running in a like-minded group.
