Lindsey Barclay and daughter Caitlin spent two days getting up at 4am to first decorate Sandall Park and then railings outside Doncaster Royal Infirmary on Armthorpe Road to add a splash of colour and raise spirits during these tough times.
The pair spent more than three hours attaching bows to the perimeter of the fence of the Wheatley park – tying more than 460 bows to the railings.
Said Lindsey: “We placed bows around Sandall Park to show our support and gratitude to all the frontline workers who continue to put themselves at risk everyday!”
At first, they were four bows short of completing the whole park, but got more ribbon from local florist to complete the task with 462 bows.
And now sooner had they finished that job, they turned their attentions to brightening up DRI.
She said: “Caitlin did an amazing job of decorating the railings outside DRI with her bows and some balloons kindly donated by Home Bargains.
“A massive thank you to the countless staff that came out to personally thank Caitlin for her efforts - you have made her day! And thank you to ALL the staff who continue to put themselves at risk on a daily basis.
A spokesman for Sandall Park said: “This has taken a great deal of time and effort - it will no doubt bring a smile to a lot of faces. Well done.”
