Lost Chord provides vital interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres.

With visits to care homes put on hold by the Coronavirus pandemic, Lost Chord’s professional musicians have been providing free sessions online. And now they are being filmed remotely for a series of special Christmas performances that will be available to view online.

“Throughout December, we are releasing a series of free Christmas concerts from our talented Lost Chord musicians,” said Lost Chord Chief Executive Helena Muller.

“Please do share our music with the people you care for who are living with dementia.

“We hope these special performances bring back happy memories of Christmas gone by, and raise the spirits this winter.”

The charity is also hoping to progress to Zoom sessions to make the whole Lost Chord experience more interactive and accessible as the pandemic restrictions continue.

Anybody who has access to Zoom and is interested in an online session should contact the Lost Chord office on 01709 811160 and leave a message so the team can arrange a link with a Lost Chord musician.

“We have several who are keen to do this and all costs are paid by Lost Chord during the pandemic,” said Helena

“In the meantime Lost Chord sends their best Christmas wishes to all their friends in residential homes and day centres and can’t wait to be able to see them again.”
