“The only way I can describe the respiratory side of it is as though your lungs won’t fill up so you start to breath faster to try take in more air but then you get dizzy and start to panic because you can’t get enough air,” said the 26-year-old from Handsworth, who has chronic kidney disease and had a kidney removed five years ago.

“And the coughing feels like it’s for no reason, you just need to. Aside from that I had no temperature at any point, just bad body aches and fatigue and after three days I developed the bad rib, back and abdomen pain which I now understand is from the inflammation on my ribs.

“I wanted to share my experience as people are still being idiots. I am so thankful to everyone who looked after me and I’m angry that people are still going about their day to day lives as if this isn’t killing people! Please stay at home, think about others and think about our NHS.”
