Twelve more coronavirus-related deaths recorded in South Yorkshire

A further 12 coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in South Yorkshire hospitals, according to the latest data released today.

This is the second day in a row where 12 new Covid-related deaths have been reported in the hospitals in the county.

In Sheffield, three more died, taking the total number of deaths at hospitals in the city to 874.

In Rotherham there were six more deaths, meaning the total now stands at 554.

In Barnsley the total stands at 582 after three more deaths.

No new deaths were reported by Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Hospitals Trust.

Nationally, a further 178 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 81,482.

Patients were aged between 25 and 101 years old. All except 7 (aged 47 to 97 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Today at 7pm the Prime Minister will set out a ‘roadmap’ for the easing of lockdown restrictions.
