Three more patients lost in Sheffield hospitals to Covid-19 as 1,001 more die across UK

Sheffield hospitals have recorded a further three deaths of patients who had tested positive for Covid-19, according to the latest daily statistics.

The deaths took place between February 7 and 8, with the time taken for positive results to be received among the potential factors in a delay between a death happening and being recorded.

According to Government data, a total of 1,025 patients across all settings in Sheffield have died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.

However, the number of people who have died in the city with Covid-19 as a cause on their death certificate currently stands at 1,114.

Across the UK, it was announced today that a further 1,001 people have died within 28 days of a positive coronavirus total, bringing the total number of deaths to 114,851.

The national number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate currently stands at more than 127,000.
