These are the latest coronavirus figures for South Yorkshire

Public Health England has released the latest figures for coronavirus cases across South Yorkshire today (March 18).

Sheffield remains the place with the largest number of cases, with the figure now at 36 as of this afternoon (March 18).

In Doncaster has three confirmed cases. Rotherham now has four cases and Barnsley now has six.

There have been a total of 2,626 positive tests for coronavirus in the UK as of 9am today, a rise of 676 in the last 24 hours.

65 patients who tested positive have recovered, and 103 people in the UK have died after testing positive.

The government announced today that all schools would close from Friday and exams in the summer would not go ahead.
