The city was named on the Government’s coronavirus watchlist on Friday, 11 September following a rise in infections. In the seven days to this date, there were 45 cases per 100,000 people in Sheffield. The average area in England had 18.
The latest government data published today, Tuesday, September 15, covers the period up to September 10. It reveals no fewer than 23 city neighbourhoods registered at least five positive Covid-19 cases. Twenty cases were identified in one area of Sheffield, while a further three neighbourhoods registered 10 or more cases.
The area breakdown only shows neighbourhoods with three or more cases to avoid identifying individuals.
