The 10 Sheffield areas where Covid cases have doubled in the last week

Covid cases remain on the rise in Sheffield, with the first phase of the ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown set to come into effect tomorrow (March 29).

The infection rate in Sheffield now stands at 126.4, with 739 new cases recorded in the week to March 22 – the latest date for which reliable figures are available.

This reflects an increase of 20.4 per cent on rate the week before, when 614 new cases were recorded in the city.

While the number of new cases in some parts of Sheffield are still falling, government statistics show there are 10 neighbourhoods across the city where the number of new cases has more than doubled in the latest week compared to the previous seven days.

Here are all the areas of Sheffield where the number of cases during the week ending March 22 – the latest date for which such localised data has been published – is more than 100 per cent higher than for the seven days to March 15.
