Two patients with Covid-19 have died in Sheffield hospitals, five in Barnsley and three in Rotherham according to the latest NHS figures released today.

The data shows the city’s death toll in hospitals from the illness is now 528.

The hospital death toll in Barnsley is now 359 after five covid related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours.

The death toll in Rotherham has now risen to 372

No new deaths were recorded in Doncaster - the total there remains at 483.

A further 293 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 44,757.Patients were aged between 38 and 98 years old. All except eight (aged 59 to 86 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
