South Yorkshire Covid-19 death toll increases by 20 as more lives sadly lost in Sheffield

20 more people have sadly died in South Yorkshire’s hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus, latest NHS figures have confirmed.

Five more people have died in Sheffield’s hospitals, bringing the total in the city to 395.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, there were six more fatalities in Doncaster, where the death toll now stands at 341.

In Rotherham there were also six more deaths, taking the total to 263 and in Barnsley there have now been 105 deaths, after three more were recorded.

Nationwide, a further 300 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 34,963.

Patients were aged between 35 and 100 years old. All except eight (aged 66 to 99 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 28 September to 9 November 2020 with the majority being on or after 6 November.

Their families have been informed.
