A total of 195 hospital patients in Sheffield have now died after contracting Covid-19 – up two since yesterday’s figures were released.

There have been a total of 1,928 confirmed cases so far.

A total of 79 deaths have been recorded in Doncaster – up five since yesterday.

Rotherham has recorded 95 deaths – an increase of three.

And Barnsley has 69 deaths recorded – up six on yesterday.

There have been a total of 21,648 deaths across the UK.

The country remains on lockdown, with the measures set to be reviewed by the government on May 7.

People can only leave home for shopping, essential travel to work, exercise once a day and for medical supplies or appointments.

The measures are aimed at reducing the spread of the deadly virus.
