So far he has raised £597, however he hopes that people will continue to donate so he can hit his £820 target.

James said: “I enjoyed it but found some bits hard, there were too many hills. It was nice running through the woods everyday and I found a lot of rope swings I didn't know about.

“By the end though my heels were hurting and I think I need some new trainers now.”

“I'm really pleased with the donations and am happy I've done a bit to help buy a games console or something like that for the kids in hospital.”

His dad Gareth added: “James is very energetic and normally is playing football with his mates at Abbey Lane JFC under 8’s, boxing and doing athletics so in lock down he's been a bit like a caged tiger.

“We’re really proud he's stuck at this challenge he set himself and we’ve really enjoyed taking it in turns to run with him. It's hopefully something he ll remember doing all his life.”

James’ idea to take on the challenge came when he asked his parents for a Lego set to keep him occupied during the lockdown.

However, as the set was so expensive, his dad Gareth told him he would need to find a way to raise the money himself.

After seeing what Captain Tom Moore had done to raise money for the NHS, James decided to try and double the money he needed for the Lego set and give it to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
