Sheffield death toll rises as 10 more patients with Covid-19 die in South Yorkshire

10 more people in South Yorkshire have died after testing positive for Covid-19, with the death toll in Sheffield increasing by five.

There were fatalities across all of the boroughs, according to the latest figures released by the NHS.

The number if people in Sheffield who have died after testing positive for coronavirus now stands at 390.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire there were four more deaths in Barnsley, bringing the total to 202, and there was one more death in Doncaster, taking the total to 335.

There were no more deaths reported in Rotherham, meaning the death toll there stands at 257.

Nationwide, a further 167 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 34,663.

Patients were aged between 23 and 97 years old. All except five (aged 49 to 77 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.
